Jalandhar City, is one of the most important railway station in Punjab. It falls on the prestigious route of New Delhi - Amritsar - Jammu Tawi. It handles prestigious trains like Amritsar Shatabdi, Golden Temple Mail and Paschim Express. It serves to the Doaba region of Punjab with its six platforms. All trains passing through this station stop here. Jalandhar City is also equipped with a DMU shed, which serves to the DMU trains in Firozpur Division.
